Overall, this is an excellent phone with nice features. But it lacks answering machine. A subscription is required in order to get the vociemail / answering system.
I would recommend the model CL82209.
Handset #1 works on speaker phone only. It is an aggravation that I may live with – haven’t decided yet. Unexpected in an AT&T product. The first AT&T cordless I purchased was about 1989 — lasted for 12 years! Could use all over the house and had perfect sound. Looked like the one on the comedy show “Friends”. Cost $185, but still cheaper for the years of use.
Works very well. Has a visual indicator when there are AT&T VoiceMail messages waiting. Doesn’t require lifting the handset to know when there are messages. This is what sold us on this phone.AT&T DECT 6.0 Black/Silver Digital Dual Handset Cordless Telephone (CL81209)
I am very pleased with this phone. The sound is the best I’ve had in a phone in I don’t know how long. So many of the reviews I read commented negatively on the fact that the phone resembles a remote. It does but I’m not seeing where the problem in that is-it’s certainly perfectly comfortable to use so that’s not it. I have not once had a problem differentiating it from my tv remote or accidentally used it as such. My 8 year old is in love with the intercom feature. Great phone!
I help seniors install the new 6.0 digital phones at home.
AT&T has hit upon a wonderful color combination for seniors.
The vivid black and amber combination permits easy reading of the screen and allows seniors to quickly recognize the information.
Its great for call waiting and caller I/D. I have installed about
six systems without a single complaint.
